Our gilders knives are available with either a stainless steel or a traditional carbon steel blade. Please note if choosing a carbon steel blade it will rust if it is not cleaned, oiled and looked after.
Suitable for cutting all types of gold and silver leaf.
Can be lightly sharpened with super fine wet & dry (silicone carbide) paper if small nicks or damage occur. Do not over sharpen the blade, it should be just sharp enough to cut through a leaf of gold without damaging the leather of a gilders cushion underneath.
